AUSTIN, TX (August 31, 2026) – Péché, the downtown Austin absinthe bar and French brasserie known for pre‑Prohibition cocktails and classic French fare, today unveils its seasonal Fall 2026 menu—available starting Sept. 11—and a slate of autumn programming that pairs convivial Old World rituals with seasonal ingredients.
As with every dish at Péché, the seasonal menu additions start with the freshest possible ingredients, including farm‑fresh produce, sustainably sourced seafood and carefully selected cheeses, and are built using classic French technique to honor and refine timeless recipes.
“These dishes capture the heart of autumn — bright, textural salads that cut through richer flavors and coastal, rustic plates that bring warmth and comfort. The kale and celeriac salad adds a crisp, citrusy counterpoint to our richer seafood menu items, while the Crevette & Coquille Saint‑Jacques and Cotriade deliver the kind of layered, seasonal umami and briny depth that pair really well with our cocktails," said John Lichtenberger, Chef and Owner, Péché.
Highlights from Péché’s seasonal fall menu include:
- Rustic Rabbit and Pork Belly Terrine ($19) onion marmalade, pistachio dust, whole grain mustard
- Kale & Celeriac Salad ($15) crisp kale, shaved celeriac, apple, toasted walnuts, Comté, citrus dressing
- Crevette & Coquille Saint‑Jacques ($34) seared scallops, shrimp, mushroom gratin
- Cotriade Breton Fish Stew ($42) cod, shrimp, scallops, clams, potato, onions, leeks, garlic
“The Volstead Act fundamentally changed how Americans drank. Outlawing booze didn't erase their desire, it just drove it underground. Prohibition taught a generation to value ritual, secrecy and shared experience, which still informs how people drink today,” said Rob Pate, Owner, Péché. He continued, “People can sit at home and drink all day long and it’s a lot less expensive. They go out to be entertained! The same hunger for celebration explains the embrace of Beaujolais Nouveau. We love the annual, festival‑like release that brings people together around fresh wine and seasonal food,” said Rob Pate, Owner, Péché.
Fall Programming includes:
Volstead Act Tableside Punch Service — Thursday, October 28: To mark the Volstead Act, Péché will offer complimentary Prohibition Punch, served tableside and at the bar, while supplies last. Péché will also extend Happy Hour pricing (half off select menu items, select $6 cocktails) all day. The Volstead Act, the 1920 federal law that implemented Prohibition in the United States, is widely recognized for reshaping American drinking culture and giving rise to speakeasies and elaborate communal punch rituals.
Beaujolais Nouveau Dinner — Tuesday, November 19: Péché will celebrate the release of this year’s vintage of Beaujolais Nouveau with a variety of Gamay Noir wines produced in the Beaujolais region of France. Traditionally enjoyed young and fresh, Beaujolais Nouveau is best consumed within weeks of its third‑Thursday‑of‑November release, served lightly chilled and paired with charcuterie, roasted poultry, mushroom dishes or simply bright, convivial fare.
To mark the occasion, Péché is offering a $50 board and bottle special, pairing a full bottle of this year's Beaujolais Nouveau with a curated charcuterie board built for sharing. It's an invitation to slow down, pour generously, and savor one of France's most anticipated wine traditions the way it was meant to be enjoyed, among good company, with good food, and a glass that never quite stays empty.
