AUSTIN, TX (June 17, 2026) – Péché, Austin's premier destination for pre-Prohibition style cocktails and fine French fare, today released its Spring menu, as well as a calendar of special events taking place this summer. The timeless absinthe bar and French brasserie in downtown Austin, which is now in its 17th year of operation, has assembled a seasonal menu focused on classic dishes, simply prepared with high-quality ingredients.

This summer, Péché Partner and Chef John Lichtenberger is introducing bright Mediterranean flavors to the menu of classic French cuisine. “The secret to great French food is starting with the best ingredients you can find. After that, it’s simple—don’t mess it up. Let the ingredients do the heavy lifting,” said Chef Lichtenberger.

The Summer 2026 Peche menu includes two new additions to Starters & Snacks:

  • Heirloom Tomato Tartine ($19) tapenade, pumpernickel, house ricotta: A rustic but vibrant dish showcasing summer’s ripe tomatoes.
  • Salad Mentonnaise ($15) frisée, shaved fennel, artichoke hearts, oranges, pine nuts, citrus vinaigrette: A classic originating from the French Riviera, where fresh oranges are plentiful in the summer.

The Supper section of the menu includes new items, as well as seasonal updates to fan-favorites, including:

  • Shrimp Caponata ($38) eggplant, celery, onions, tomatoes, olives, capers
  • Texas Wild Boar Bolognese ($34) locally-sourced wild boar, cavatelli
  • Rabbit Crepes ($36) English peas & apricot chutney, Moutarde sauce
  • Grilled Iberico Pork Chop ($43) poached plums & Napa cabbage, golden raisin champagne sauce
  • Angus Ribeye ($58) grilled asparagus, stuffed baked tomato, Béarnaise sauce
  • Roasted Lockhart Stuffed Quail ($37) olive & goat cheese stuffed with roasted butternut squash & red grapes, A L’Orange sauce
  • Pan Roasted Veal Sweetbreads ($36) parsnip puree, Madeira wine demi

Péché will host a variety of recurring programming and special events during the summer, including:

  • Frappé Soirées (June 10 - September 7) – This summer, Péché debuts Frappé Soirées ($32 per person), a new weekly Wednesday ritual starting Memorial Day through Labor Day, bringing a refreshing taste of French summer culture to downtown Austin. Inspired by the long-standing French tradition of escaping summer’s heat with an afternoon or evening frappé, guests can enjoy a Frappé—absinthe or vermouth served over crushed ice ($15), along with a bright Salad Mentonnaise ($15) and Lavender Crème Brûlée ($10)—a transportive pairing designed to beat the heat with Parisian flair.

  • Bastille Day (Tuesday, July 14) - Péché’s annual French fête will return to commemorate the 1789 storming of the Bastille prison. The raucous celebration will feature decadent food and drink specials, live music, entertainment and games, all against the backdrop of France’s flag, le Tricolore! Additional details to come.

  • Feast of Mary Magdalene (Wednesday, July 22) - In the spirit of European villages that honor their patron saints with communal feasts, Péché will offer a one-night-only feast in tribute to Mary Magdalene—the patron saint of sinners and the fitting spiritual muse behind Austin’s beloved absinthe bar and French bistro. This reservation-only dinner invites guests to indulge in an evening of decadent French fare, an absinthe flight and reverent revelry, blending Old World tradition with Péché’s signature sense of indulgence. Seating is limited.
